Essig Renovation and Design out of Pittsburgh knows the importance of sourcing quality materials and resources to pair with the beautiful housing stock of the area. When two clients needed a privacy screen installed between their decks, they looked to find a material that was warm and would work well with the existing composite deck. This was a job for real wood, so Essig turned to Americana™ Thermally Modified Hardwood.
Americana worked hand-in-hand with Essig and their clients to test and evaluate a variety of different species and custom profiles. What they landed on was an Eased 4 Edge 2 x 4” Poplar profile with our factory-applied Cutek Extreme (clear) wood protecting oil. The result is a stunning and elegant privacy screen that is equally beautiful from both neighbor’s backyards.
